Build a commercial hot-water project brief
Describe operations before reducing the project to a heater count.
Describe the use
Record the building use, hours, peak periods and the processes that need hot water. Separate domestic fixtures from specialized demands. Identify the person authorized to discuss the site and any access restrictions.
Gather the current records
Collect equipment identifiers, available plans and service history. Describe redundancy needs and the consequences of an outage without promising that a particular configuration is adequate. The assessment should be handled by the authorized designer and contractor.
Define the review questions
Ask about the system design, approvals, supply, distribution, controls, commissioning and the proposed maintenance arrangements. A residential comparison table or simple flow sum does not size a commercial system. Use the national intake to preserve the complete brief for the next discussion.
