HAUSE / WATER + HOME
Choose a water-heater type around the home
Start with demand and the existing installation, then compare equipment.
Record the starting point
Write down the current make, model, fuel, tank capacity and approximate installation date. Photograph the label for your own records. Describe the location and access without opening equipment. Separate what you know from what needs a qualified assessment.
Compare constraints
A storage tank, tankless unit and heat-pump water heater solve different installation problems. Ask about hot-water demand, available space, energy supply and the particular model requirements. A type name alone does not confirm that a product will fit or that existing connections can be reused.
Compare ownership
Include the purchase or rental arrangement, manufacturer documentation, maintenance responsibilities and the proposed warranty. Use an actual model specification and a written installation scope rather than treating a generic type comparison as a recommendation for the property.
