Use the installation address
Provide country, province or state, municipality and postal or ZIP code. A country guide is a starting point, not a local permit ruling. Replacement, relocation, fuel conversion and electrical changes can have different approval paths.
Ask for responsibility in writing
Ask the proposed contractor which authority has jurisdiction, whether a permit is needed, who applies, who pays and who schedules inspection. Request the official local page or written authority response used for that answer. Keep the permit number and inspection result in the completion record where applicable.
Confirm the scope before work
Explain whether the project changes the location, venting, supply or equipment type. Have the authorized professional resolve the applicable rules. A website enquiry or calculator output is not permit approval, technical design or permission to carry out work.
