Compare energy-cost assumptions transparently
Use your own usage and rates; keep the result as a scenario.
Enter comparable inputs
Choose one currency and enter annual consumption and the applicable unit rate for each candidate. Record the source and date for those figures. Include installation and maintenance assumptions separately. Do not mix dollars per therm with dollars per kilowatt-hour.
Interpret the arithmetic
The worksheet multiplies entered annual consumption by the entered rate. It does not predict equipment performance, future utility prices or household savings. If you use a model label figure, record its test assumptions and ask whether it represents your usage.
Handle incentives separately
Do not deduct an incentive until current program rules, the model, applicant eligibility and required approval steps have been checked. For U.S. requests, the official rebate finder can help locate programs; it does not guarantee a rebate. Record both a gross-cost case and any separately verified incentive case.
